That’s a NO to Palm Oil

Kis Products are Palm Oil Free

Many ingredients used commonly in every day products contain Palm Oil and you would not know it. You rely heavily on companies being ethical and open and honest about their use of palm oil.

Many companies say their product contains sustainable palm oil, we won’t take that risk. To me it’s like saying “clean coal”. Our world and our environment would be better off without either “palm oil” or “coal” being extracted, with millions of acres of earth being desecrated
We have decided it’s better not to use any Palm Oil in our products, there is only one reliable body that oversees whether Palm Oil is being produced sustainably. And there are other bodies with vested interest. It is too hard for us to know for sure so we sleep better at nights knowing that the natural environment of the Orangutan is no worse off because of us.

Recently our supplier of Decyl Glucoside, told us that they can no longer source Decyl Glucoside that is 100% Palm oil free.

I could not get any from Australian Suppliers, so l have had to look overseas and l am currently ordering ‘palm oil & palm oil derivative free’ Decyl Glucoside from Canada. Further about 7 American suppliers told me that their Decyl Glucoside contains Palm Oil. I only found this out after emailing them all.

The company that has Decyl Glucoside (palm oil free) in Canada does not ship to Australia, so l have had to set up an account with Aramax, who will take delivery of it in Canada and ship it to me in Australia.

Many products don’t list Palm oil as an ingredient they use a derivative from Palm oil. The following is a list of definite palm oil derivatives.

Decyl glucoside, is safe and naturally derived, sometimes called alkyl polyglucoside, is a cloudy liquid derived from palm kernel oils, corn sugars or coconut. It is a type of alkyl glucoside, which are substances formed by mixing alcohols and sugar or glucose.
Decyl Glucoside, is one of 9 ingredients in our Kis Celtic Salt Scrub. Decyl Glucoside is a natural ingredient in our scrub which makes it soluble and easily washed off leaving your skin silky smooth and hydrated.
