Reading the fine Print on your Beauty Products

I just want to remind you to read the labels on the personal care products you use or go to purchase. The image here is taken from a so-called “organic”
body cream. Mind you it did smell fantastic, which led me to look more closely at the ingredients. It also caused me to feel itchy and tingly just smelling it!

We  often think “unscented” may be the way to go but then these products often have “scents” added to neutralise the natural smell of the product.

I avoid any product that lists the word “fragrance” or “parfum”

“The word “parfum or fragrance” usually translates to a bevy of synthetic chemicals that can be quite irritating to your skin and harmful if used regularly.

Rarely this is done by a company to protect their secret recipe and avoid giving away of the content of their exclusive perfume to their competitors.

But mostly it is to gloss over a cocktail of harmful chemicals.

To quote another blog….

“Fragrance” is a euphemism for nearly 4,000 different ingredients. Most “fragrances” are synthetic and are toxic.

Exposure to fragrances has been shown to affect the central nervous system. “Fragrances” are found in most shampoos, deodorants, sunscreens, skincare and body care products.

So have your glasses with you when you go shopping!!

Kis products use carefully chosen high quality ingredients. All are chosen for the good they will do you there are not harmful chemicals.
